Pin the Horn on the Unicorn
This twist on a classic game will bring a smile to every unicorn lover’s face at your party! Draw a picture of a unicorn on a large piece of butcher paper or cardboard. Then, cut a horn from construction paper for each child and write his or her name on it before adding tape to the back. While blindfolded, give each child a chance to stick his or her horn on the unicorn. Whoever comes closest, wins!

Delightful Dress-Up
Invite your guests to come dressed in their finest party attire, or transform them into unicorn princesses and princes when everyone has arrived! Collect suits, dresses, skirts, blouses, scarves, high-heeled shoes, ribbons, shawls, hats, gloves, costume jewelry, etc. to create your own costume box. Play music to set the mood while they dress up. Once they are elegantly attired, give them the opportunity to prance around to the music. Don’t forget to take pictures!

Majestic Message Mix-up
Seat your guests in a circle. The birthday child thinks of a message (such as, Unicorns have only one horn), and whispers it to the person on her left, and so on until the message travels all the way around the circle. The person on the birthday child’s right tells the message out loud and then the birthday child tells the original message. Expect the unexpected when you learn the original vs. the final mixed-up message. Try again with another player starting a new message and continue until your guests are ready for a new activity.

Candy Necklaces
You’ll need two feet of yarn for each guest, and candy or cereal with holes. Before the party, fill small bowls with the candy or cereal, and place them within easy reach of your guests at the party table. Give each child a length of yarn and let the kids create their own edible necklaces, a bridle and reins for their unicorn, or anything that comes to mind!

Elusive Apples
Before the party, purchase a small apple for each child, and tie a string to each stem. Hang all the apples in a row at an even level, from a tree branch, swing set, etc. Be sure the apples are low enough so the kids can reach them with their mouths. To begin, tell your guests they must eat the apples like unicorns would from a tree, using only their mouths (no hands!) It will be challenging to keep the apples still long enough to take a bite. After a period of time, see which contestant has eaten the most of his or her apple!

Round Up the Herd
For this game you’ll need 2 brooms, a long string to mark your course, and 6 balloons. Set up an obstacle course using boxes, chairs, bushes, trees, etc. and mark the path of your obstacle course with string.

Divide your guests in 2 teams and line up both teams at the starting line. Give the first person in each line a broom and 3 balloons. (Use different colored balloons for each team). They must use the broom to herd their unicorns (balloons) through the course. Each player must herd their balloons through the entire course to complete their turn. The first team to finish the course, wins! If balloons pop, players must take a new balloon to their team’s starting line.

Floating Balloon Game
Pass out large inflated balloons to your guests. The object of the game is to hit the balloons up into the air, and keep them afloat for the longest amount of time. This a fun way to start or end any party!

Makes 12 Servings

Ingredients

Cake
1 (18.9-oz.) pkg. Pillsbury® Moist Supreme® Funfetti® Cake Mix
1 cup water
1/3 cup oil
3 eggs

Frosting
2 (16-oz.) cans Pillsbury® Creamy Supreme® Vanilla Frosting
Purple gel or paste food color

Decorations
1 sugar ice cream cone
2 (6-inch) bamboo skewers
Yellow decorator sugar
Small heart candies
2 wedge­shaped grapefruit jelly candies
Toothpicks
Black gumdrops
Red gumdrops
Green leaf­shaped gumdrops

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 1 1/2­quart ovenproof bowl and 10­oz. custard cup. In large bowl, combine all cake ingredients; beat at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour 1/2 cup batter into greased and floured custard cup; pour remaining batter into greased and floured bowl. Place bowl in oven first, then custard cup.

2. Bake at 350°F. Bake cake in custard cup for 20 to 25 minutes; bake cake in bowl for 55 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake in cup and bowl for 15 minutes. Remove cakes from cup and bowl; place on wire rack. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.

3. With serrated knife, trim tops of cakes to level. Place bowl cake, flat side down, on platter or foil­covered cardboard. Cut 1/2 inch off one side of cup cake. With bamboo skewer, attach cup cake with cut side toward rounded cake to make nose.

4. Fill ice cream cone with cake scraps from custard cup cake; pierce cake scraps with bamboo skewer. Frost cone with vanilla frosting; roll in yellow decorator sugar. Insert other end of skewer into "head" to form horn.

5. Reserve 1 cup vanilla frosting for the mane. Frost cake with remaining vanilla frosting. Add purple food color to reserved 1 cup frosting; blend well to make purple frosting. With rubber scraper or small metal spatula, spread purple frosting on cake and on platter to create the mane. Sprinkle "mane" with small heart candies.

6. With toothpicks, attach jelly candies to cake for ears. Roll out black gumdrops; cut into shapes for eyes and nose. Attach "eyes" and "nose" to cake. Roll out red gumdrops; shape into roses. Place roses with leaf gumdrops at "neck."

HIGH ALTITUDE (ABOVE 3500 FEET): Use 2 1/2­quart ovenproof bowl and 10­oz. custard cup. Add 1/4 cup flour to dry cake mix. Pour 3/4 cup batter into custard cup; pour remaining batter into bowl. Bake at 375°F. Bake cake in custard cup for 20 to 25 minutes; bake cake in bowl for 40 to 45 minutes.

Funfetti Unicorn Horns

Ingredients

1 (18.9-oz.) pkg. Pillsbury® Moist Supreme® Funfetti® Cake Mix
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
1/2 (15.6-oz.) can Pillsbury® Creamy Supreme® Funfetti® Pink Vanilla Frosting
8 pointed ice cream cones
1 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces

Directions

1. Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, combine cake mix, oil and eggs; stir with spoon until thoroughly moistened. Shape dough into 36 (1­inch) balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. With bottom of glass dipped in flour, flatten each to 1/4­inch thickness.

2. Bake at 375°F. for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Cool 15 minutes or until completely cooled.

3. Spoon about 1 cup frosting into quart­sized resealable plastic bag; seal bag. Cut off 1 bottom corner of bag to form small hole.

4. Holding 1 ice cream cone in hand, spoon about 2 tablespoons candies into cone. Squeeze bag of frosting to pipe frosting around top edge of cone. Press rounded side of 1 cookie onto frosting. Place cookie, cone side up, on sheet of waxed paper. Repeat with 7 remaining cones and 7 cookies. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until frosting is set. Reserve remaining cookies for snacking.

5. Starting at pointed end of each cone, pipe spiral of frosting around each cone. Immediately sprinkle frosting with candy bits from frosting. If desired, add additional edible glitter or candy sprinkles.

HIGH ALTITUDE (ABOVE 3500 FEET): Add 1/2 cup flour to dry cake mix. Bake as directed on package.

Tea-Time Sandwiches
Make several kinds of your daughter’s favorite sandwiches. Use cookie cutters to make fun and dainty shapes for the girls to choose from. A platter full of hearts, stars and flowers are sure to please your pretty tea-time eaters. You can also cut off the crusts, cut the sandwiches diagonally and neatly arrange the triangle shapes on a platter.

Fruit Kabobs
The girls will love this fun and nutritious treat! Have a platter of fun- shaped fruit ready before the party. Cut strawberries in the shape of hearts, and arrange them on a platter with melon balls, blueberries and raspberries. Set out long toothpicks to see who can put together the most creative fruit kabob. However, make sure the girls don’t leave the table with the toothpicks because the sharp points can be dangerous.

Mystic Punch
Mystically pink and full of pizazz, this punch is sure to fizz its way right into the hearts of your party girls. Fill a large punch bowl with ginger ale or lemon-lime soda. Add raspberry sherbet at serving time and watch it fizz. Served in fancy glasses, this punch will make your guests feel extra special.

Decorating Tips

Use balloons to mark the party spot; hang them on the mailbox, near the front door, or tie them to the birthday child's chair to mark the seat of honor. Place balloons anywhere that strikes your fancy. The more the better!
