Crafts & Activities
Theme
related children's crafts and activities for children's birthday parties.
Star
Wars Badges
Get your guests in the spirit of the latest Star Wars saga
with this fun craft project. Before the party, cut out badges from construction
paper. Provide the kids with Star Wars stickers, extra paper, glue, scissors,
glitter, markers, crayons, magazine pictures, etc., and encourage creative expression.
During the party, hand out extra badges as favors while playing games. When giving
out the badges, honor the kids with special awards, i.e., Best Yoda Impression,
Best Team Player, Most Infectious Giggle, or Biggest Smile.
Moon
Rock Hunt
Purchase small treats or gifts and wrap them in aluminum foil.
Hide them in a sandbox, around the house or in the yard. At the party, let the
children dig in the sand, or search throughout your planet to find
their moon rocks. They will love the excitement of opening their rocks
and finding treasures!
Make A Spaceship
Create your own unique spaceship with a large appliance box, aluminum
foil, tape, scissors, markers, and posterboard. Cut a large hole for a door hatch,
but leave one side attached so it will fold back to close. Cut out a few portholes
and make a cone nose for the top using posterboard. Then, cover the entire spaceship
with aluminum foil, taping it in place.
Your
guests will love using their imaginations to think of games to play in the spaceship,
and it will provide hours of fun during and after the party. For fun, take a photo
of each guest inside the spaceship and send it to them later as a party favor!
Space Walk
Cut four rock
shapes (about 15 in diameter) from posterboard and cover them with aluminum
foil. These will be your space rocks. At the party, divide your guests
into two teams and establish a start/finish line. Give the first player on each
team two space rocks. The first person in line must place a space rock in front
of him and step on it. Then, he must place the second space rock in front of the
first and step from the first rock to the second, and so on. This continues until
he has walked across your planet around a designated point and returned
to his team. The next player in line must do the same, until each player on the
team has had a turn. The team to finish first, wins!
Star
Wars Message Mix-Up
Seat your guests in a circle. The birthday child
thinks of a message and whispers it to the person on his left. When the message
has traveled all the way around the circle, the guest on the birthday childs
right says the message aloud. Then, the birthday child tells the original message.
Everyones sure to giggle when they hear the final, mixed-up message! Try
again with another player starting a new message.
Face
Painting
Purchase a set of face
paints and give each guest a unique alien look. Let each child
make up an alien name for himself or create a few of your own and let the kids
draw names randomly. Use movie names or your own, such as Zork, Murblap,
or Gondar.
Floating Spaceships
Pass out large balloons to each guest. Help your guests blow up their
balloons and tie them. The object of this game is to launch the spaceships
up in the air and keep them afloat for the longest amount of time. This is a fun
way to start or end a party!
