& Activities

Shaggy
& Scooby's Message Mix-Up
Seat your guests in a circle. The birthday
child thinks of a message that he thinks Scooby would want to send to his owner.
(i.e. It's high time for some more Scooby snacks!) He then whispers it to the
person on his left and the message travels all the way around the circle. The
person on the birthday child's right then tells the message out loud. Then the
birthday child tells their message out loud. Expect the unexpected when you learn
the original vs. the final mixed-up message! Try again with another player starting
a new message and continue until your guests are ready for a new activity.
Scoobys
Jell-O® Eatin Contest
Make one bowl of Jell-O for each child
(plus a few extra). Line the bowls along the ground, its always a good idea
to place a tablecloth or other mess protection down for easy clean up. Put a cartoon
poochs name (Dino, Muttly, Scooby, Huckleberry, etc.) on each bowl, itll
make calling the race more fun. Each player places their hands on the ground beside
their bowl and must keep them there throughout the game. When the command is given
to start, all the contestants begin eating their Jell-O. The first one to clean
their bowl completely, wins!
Dog-Gone
Fun Relay
Before the party, draw Scoobys face on several balloons.
At game time, have the children stand in 2 single file lines, facing the same
direction. Place a balloon between the knees of the first child in each line.
When the race starts the child turns to face the next person in line, the second
child must grasp the balloon with his or her knees and turn to pass it on to the
third person and so on. If the balloon falls to the ground the team must start
over. The first team to successfully pass the balloon down the line wins.
Scooby's
Snack Search
Scooby's favorite food is missing. Can you help him hunt
down his biscuits before snack time? Depending on the age of the children, hide
Milkbone® dog biscuits throughout the house (or party area), in easy or harder
to find locations. Give your searchers a sack to put their biscuits in and let
them loose to collect as may as they can find. It's funny to see just how many
biscuits actually make it to Scooby at snack time!
Feedin
Scooby
This is a great activity for kids of all ages. Purchase bean bags
suitable for tossin. Draw a picture of Scooby on the side of a cardboard
box with his mouth wide open (Birthday Express shipping boxes work great). Cut
the mouth to make a hole large enough for the bean bags to be thrown through easily.
Place the box about ten feet away from the children and give each child a chance
to toss the bean bags into Scoobys mouth.
Ghouls
and Ghosts
Like wow! Scooby and the gang are surrounded by spooks in
this game of surprise. Choose a child to be Scooby-Doo and gently blindfold him
or her. As Scooby walks blindly around, the rest of the children circle around
him or her (while staying in the designated play area.) When Scooby touches someone,
that child must howl and moan like a ghost until Scooby can guess who he or she
is. If Scooby can identify the moaning ghoul, the two children trade places. If
not, the game continues.
Disappearing
Birthday Cake
Join Scooby-Doo and solve the mystery of the missing birthday
cake! For this scavenger hunt, you'll need the help of a few family members, neighbors,
or friends. Separate guests into teams and give each team of super sleuths a set
of clues and party favors to find. Give each child a bag to put the favors in
and make sure each guest has at least one favor (so nobody feels left out.) The
clues and favors should lead the children to the location of the cake. Keep the
cake under adult supervision. Excited children running through the house with
a cake can be messy! The first team to locate the cake gets served first.
