Daydream
Transformation
Make your guests dreams come true as they arrive at your party!
Transform each child into a fairy with a pair of wings, a hair wreath
and a bit of fairy dust as soon as they enter your home. Or, if you prefer,
use the ideas below to plan fun activities during the party!
Floral
Hair Wreaths
Gather fresh flowers, or purchase silk or paper flowers at a craft store.
(If you choose fresh flowers, babys breath is inexpensive, easy
to work with, and delicately beautiful.) Using iridescent ribbon, hold
one flower by its stem and lay it flat against the ribbon. Wrap the stem
tightly with ribbon and add another flower, and so on, until the wreath
is large enough to fit the childs head. Tie a knot with the extra
ribbon and curl the excess. Note: You can also make bracelets or a large
floral centerpiece that everyone helps create.
Simple
Fairy Wings
Using 9-gauge aluminum wire (available at hardware stores), fashion a
pair of wings for each child. Cover with netting, tulle or old pantyhose
and spray with glitter. Use ribbon or elastic cord to make straps so the
wings can be worn like a backpack.
Fairy
Dust
Fill small, clear vials with glitter and secure them with a cork. Attach
the vials to long pieces of ribbon to make necklaces of fairy dust!
Magical
Makeover
Enlist a fun-loving mom or teenager to give your little party pixies quick
makeovers. Each guest should receive a dab of glitter blush, eye shadow
or lip gloss to brighten her face. Then allow her to choose her favorite
color of sparkling nail polish and give her a quick manicure. Use a blow
dryer to dry fingernails, or ask each little fairy to flick her fingers
in the air for about sixty seconds. When nails are dry, let each guest
choose a tiny sticker for each fingernail.
Pixie
Magic
Find 5 pennies with different dates. Decorate a small satchel or pouch
to be a fairy bag and place the pennies inside it. Ask a guest to pick
a penny from the bag and look at the date, but not tell what it is. Then,
pass the penny around so everyone except the birthday child can look at
the date. After everyone else has seen the chosen penny, put it back in
the fairy bag.
Once
the chosen penny is back in the bag, the birthday child touches the bag
with a star fairy wand. Then, he or she reaches in and takes the chosen
penny from the bag. (Since copper absorbs heat, the birthday child knows
the penny everyone handled will be warm.) Your guests will love this fairy
magic!
Clothespin
Tag
This version of freeze tag will make your little sprites giggle with delight!
Give each guest 3 clothespins to wear, except the birthday child. When
the birthday child tags a player, that player must freeze until a free
player comes by and takes one of the frozen players clothespins.
When a frozen player has no pins left, he or she must remain frozen until
the game is over. The last free player is the winner. Note: For more fun,
decorate the clothespins like tiny fairies!
Fantastic
Fairy Tales
This activity is a great way to bring your party to an end. To begin,
ask one guest to begin telling a traditional fairy tale. Move around the
circle and let each guest add a new installment to the story, being as
imaginative as they like. Your party guests will have fun dreaming up
outlandish tales with this fun activity.
Pinatas
Piņatas

Pinata Fillers
Kids
love the excitement of trying to break open a piñata and see the
treasures rain down. This 96-piece assortment of toys and candy is perfect
for eight guests, and will bring even more fun to your piñata activity.
Pull-String
Piñata Kit
Turn your piñata into a pull-string for a gentler piñata
activity. Kit includes trap door release and 20 pull strings.
Tasty Treats And Menu Ideas
Cloud
in a Cup
Your guests will be on cloud nine when they taste this delicious recipe!
To begin, measure one cup dry macaroni and cook until tender; drain. Saute
1 small chopped onion in margarine until tender. Add 2 Tbs. cornstarch
and 2 cups nonfat milk; cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Reduce heat
and cook 2-3 minutes longer. Add 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese and 2
cups frozen corn to the onion mixture, stirring until cheese melts. Remove
from heat.
Next,
separate 4 eggs. Beat egg yolks and slowly add to the cheese mixture,
stirring constantly so they mix in evenly. Then, fold in the drained macaroni.
In a
separate bowl, beat egg whites and 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar until stiff
peaks form. Fill 8 ovenproof mugs (coffee mugs work well), 1/4 full with
cheese and macaroni mixture. Top with a heaping spoonful of egg white
to form clouds. Place mugs on a baking sheet and bake at 350° F for
25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Fairy
Wands
Make your favorite sugar cookies using a star-shaped cookie cutter. When
the cookies are still warm and soft to the touch, carefully push a plastic
straw between any two points of the star to make the wand.
Make
icing by sifting confectioners sugar into a bowl and slowly mixing
in hot water until it becomes smooth. Add a few drops of pastel-colored
food coloring and frost. These fairy wand cookies are delicate, but theyre
delicious and a lot of fun to eat!
Sparkling
Cider
Sparkling cider served in fancy glasses will make your little sprites
feel extra special! Garnish each drink with a fresh flower (or a piece
of colorful fruit) on the rim of the glass. After theyve finished
their drinks, your guests will enjoy decorating their hair with the flowers.
Special
Sandwiches
Use theme-related cookie cutters to make ordinary sandwiches more fun!
Make your childs favorite type of sandwiches and cut them into stars,
flowers or fairies!
Dreamy
Fruit Parfait
This refreshing treat is sure to be a highlight at your party. In parfait
cups, layer yogurt, granola and fresh fruit. Top the cups with whipped
cream and serve with long-handled spoons!
Fairy
Pillows
Your guests will be in seventh heaven when they taste these puffy cookies
that look just like tiny pillows! To make them, you will need: 4 egg whites,
1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp cream of tartar, 1-1/2 cups sugar, 1 tsp vanilla,
and 1 cup white chocolate chips. Preheat the oven to 300° F. Separate
egg whites from the yolks, and beat egg whites until frothy. Add salt
and cream of tartar. Beat on high until stiff peaks form. Slowly add sugar,
a tablespoon at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add vanilla. Fold
in chips. Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 18-20 min. until
firm. Store in an airtight container until snack time.
