Paw Print Relay
Before the party, cut four paw prints out of red posterboard (or cardboard you color). Each should be about 12-15 inches across. Divide your party guests into two teams and give the first person in each line two paws. These paws become the only thing they can step on as they travel from the front of the line, around a chair, and back again. Place one paw on the floor, step on it, place the next paw on the floor in front of the first, and step on it. Pick up the first paw and place it in front and step on it, etc. Your guests will be rolling in laughter as they watch their teammates race to the finish line.

Ruff, Ruff, Meow
We all know that dogs love to chase cats, and Clifford is no exception. This game is a takeoff of the classic game "Duck, Duck, Goose." To begin, have the children sit in a circle. The birthday child starts out as Clifford and walks around the circle tapping each child on the head, saying "Ruff" with each tap. When they are ready to choose the person to be the next Clifford, he/she says "Meow" when tapping that person on the head. The Meow person gets up and chases Clifford around the circle. If the Meow person does not tag Clifford before he/she makes it all the way around the circle and sits in the open spot, then the Meow person becomes Clifford. However, if the Meow person tags Clifford, then he/she remains Clifford and the game continues.

Follow the Big Red Dog
Join in the fun with this silly activity! The first thing you need is music, any children's music will do. Choose a leader to be Clifford and have all the other guests line up behind him/her. The leader makes all sorts of creative moves, and the rest of the line follows. If the leader needs some help you can suggest barking, hopping, jumping, twirling, rolling on the ground, etc. Pick a new leader every few minutes. Play until everyone has had a turn, or until they're ready for a new activity.

Jell-O® Eatin’ Race
You’ll want to have your camera ready for this! Prepare one bowl of Jell-O for each child. Line the bowls up on the ground and put a popular pooch’s name on the front of each bowl (Dino, Muttly, Scooby, Huckleberry, Clifford for the birthday child, etc.) it’ll make calling the race more fun. Players must keep their hands on the floor next to their bowl throughout the game. When you ring the dinner bell (or yell Din Din!, all the contestants begin eating their Jell-O. The first pooch to clean their bowl completely, wins!

Saucy Dog Bone Snacks
To make this tasty snack, use a dog-bone cookie cutter and cut bones out of refrigerator dough bread sticks; bake according to package directions. While the bones are still warm, brush the tops with butter or a little olive oil and sprinkle with a generous amount of parmesan cheese. Pour marinara sauce or spaghetti sauce into individual bowls. Give one to each guest so they can dip and eat their yummy doggie treat!

Slurpin' Sarsaparilla Soda
Your little ones will be sufferin’ to get their hands on this quick and easy sarsaparilla soda. Before the party, fill several ice trays with water, place a cherry into each compartment and freeze. Place one tablespoon of grenadine syrup into each glass. Drop a frozen cherry ice cube into each glass. Pour cream soda into glasses while your guests watch. They’ll be amazed as the drink turns pink and foamy.

Clifford's Favorite Snacks
Combine 1/2 cup of each of the following ingredients in a large mixing bowl: margarine, peanut butter, white sugar, brown sugar and one egg; mix until well blended. Add 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 3/4 tsp baking soda and 1/4 tsp. salt; mix well. Mix in 1/2 cup English toffee pieces and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Chill dough for 1 hour. Roll dough into 1/2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Flatten each ball with a fork. Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned. Remove from oven, cool and serve in a bowl.

Clifford's Fabulous Fizzy Punch
You will need: 1-10 oz. package frozen strawberries (partially thawed); 1-10 oz. package frozen raspberries (partially thawed); 1-12 oz. can frozen lime juice concentrate; 1-32 oz. bottle of ginger ale (chilled); 1-32 oz. bottle of club soda (chilled); and 1 pint vanilla ice cream. Puree fruit in a blender and combine with the lime juice concentrate. Chill for at least one hour. Pour mixture into a punch bowl, add ginger ale, club soda and scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Your guests will race to get their paws on these tasty treats! Purchase your favorite brand of hot dogs, cheese, and refrigerator croissants. Slice hot dogs lengthwise and cut cheese into strips. Unroll croissants and stuff them with hot dogs and cheese. Roll croissants back up and bake as directed, or until golden brown.
