two paint strips, four paint brushes, and easy-to-follow instructions.

Blue's
Search for Clues
Before the party, think of several clues that would
be easy for youngsters to figure out. Write each clue on an index card, and add
a blue paw print to each. Sample Clue: "Im cold on the inside, and
I run all day and all night long." When your guests figure out that the answer
to the clue is the refrigerator, have everyone look inside the refrigerator for
the next clue. Hide the remaining clues around the house, and have the final clue
lead to the birthday cake. Your guests will love showing off how much they know,
then theyll be happily rewarded with a yummy dessert!
Follow
Blue
Join in the fun with this silly activity! The first thing you need
is music, any children's music will do. Choose a leader and have all the other
party guests line up behind him/her. The leader makes all sorts of creative moves,
and the rest of the line follows. If the leader needs some help you can suggest
hopping, jumping, twirling, rolling on the ground, etc. Pick a new leader every
few minutes. Play until everyone has had a turn, or until they're ready for a
new activity.
Ha, Ha, Ha!!!
The object of this game is to keep a straight face while the other players try
to make you laugh. All players form a circle and one player begins by saying,
"Ha." The next player says, "Ha, Ha," followed by the next
player who says, "Ha, Ha, Ha," and so on around the circle with each
player adding a "Ha" to the string. Each player must pronounce the "Ha"s
as solemnly as they can, to avoid laughter as long as possible. Any player who
laughs or makes a mistake must drop out of the circle. However, he or she then
gets to try to make the remaining players laugh in any way (except by touching
them or talking). The most serious player (the one who keeps a straight face the
longest) wins the game.
Pin the Party
Hat on Blue
Draw Blues face on a piece of posterboard, and cut
party hat shapes from posterboard, as well. When the guests arrive, let them color
their own party hat. Mount Blue on your wall and place a piece of tape on the
back of each childs party hat. Before each child takes a turn, have them
close their eyes, then spin them around, and point them toward Blue. The child
who sticks their party hat closest to Blues head is the winner! You may
want to play this game several times to give the kids more chances to win.
Pin
the Flag on the Mailbox
Cut out
a mailbox from construction paper. Cut out enough flags for each child.
Blindfold
each child and see who can come the closest to putting the flag on the mailbox.
Blue
Magic
This
is an activity that everyone will enjoy. Let each child make their own "magic".
This activity would be best outside or in the kitchen.
You
Will Need:
Blue food coloring
Cornstarch
Sealable Sandwich Bags
Directions:
Pour 1 cup cornstarch into the sandwich
bag. Add blue food coloring to 1/4 cup of water.
Slowly add 1/4 cup of water
mixed to the cornstarch. Carefully press the excess air out of the sandwich bag
and seal it shut. Instruct each child to gently knead the sandwich bag until the
mixture is well blended and smooth, but not to puncture the bag. The children
will be amazed as they watch the mixture turn from dry to wet and slowly turn
blue.
Blue's Bubble Pictures
Supplies:
Tablet
of Drawing Paper
Blue Food Coloring
Bubbles
Directions:
This activity needs to be done out
doors. Add the blue food coloring to the bubble mixture. Have a sheet of white
drawing paper for each child. Have one or more adults blow bubbles and instruct
each child to try to catch them on their sheet of paper. As the bubbles pop they
make a design on the paper. See who can come close to making a paw print or how
many paw prints they can make.
Hint:
You can make your own bubble liquid by mixing 1/2 Cup Dawn dishwashing liquid,
5 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of glycerin (available at drug stores). Stir
(donÕt shake) the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
