Batman
Cake Hunt
Some Joker has stolen the cake! Send out your throng of little
crime fighters to find the Caped Crusaders cake. Children love to hunt for
surprises, so on this special day create a treasure hunt for the Batman birthday
cake!
Separate your guests
into teams and give each team a set of clues. Make sure that each child has a
bag to carry party favors, which will be hidden throughout the hunt with the clues.
Make sure the clues and favors lead them to the cake.
We
recommend keeping the cake close to home, under adult supervision. Excited children
running through the house with a cake can be messy! Serve the team who finds the
cake first.
Super Hero
Obstacle Course
Everyone can challenge their Bat Skills as
they try to make their way through an obstacle course! This activity is best done
outside or in a large room. Use household items such as chairs, pillows, sleeping
bags, or anything you can find to create a challenging course. Old tires, logs,
bicycles, ropes, tools, and sports equipment from the garage can help make the
course full of adventure! If you wish, keep track of everyones time and
award prizes to every child.
Batcave
Bombers
Before the party, decorate a large cardboard box with brown,
black, or grey construction paper so it resembles the Batcave. Make paper airplanes
for each guest out of the construction paper, or let them fold their own Batplanes.
Turn the box on its side so the opening is facing the guests. Mark an X
on the floor with tape. Challenge each guest to fly their Batplane into the Batcave,
while standing on the X.
Over
and Under Relay
Separate your guests into teams and blow up a balloon
for each team. Tell each team to form a single-file line, and give the first person
in each line a balloon. When the game begins, the first person must pass the balloon
over his or her head to the player behind. The player who receives the balloon
must pass it between their legs to the next player. The pattern continues, alternating
over and under, until the balloon reaches the back of the line. When it reaches
the last person, the players reverse direction and the balloon is passed the opposite
way, from back to front. The first team to finish wins.
Unlock
the Batmobile
Before the party, make a side-view drawing of the Batmobile
on a large piece of paper or posterboard. Make the door handle and keyhole large
enough to be obvious to your guests. Cut out a cardboard key for each guest and
attach a piece of tape to the back. Explain to your guests that the object of
the game is to place their key closest to the keyhole in order to unlock the Batmobile.
Blindfold each guest in turn, and spin them three times. When they are facing
the Batmobile, let them go. Award a prize to the child who is closest!
Tasty Treats And Menu Ideas
Poison
Ivy Punch
Create a drink only true super heroes can handle! Before the
party, purchase plastic ivy from a craft store, and cut it into pieces. Then,
make some lime Kool-Aid® and pour it into ice cube trays. Add a piece of ivy
to each ice cube compartment and freeze.
On
the party day, add green food coloring to your childs favorite beverage
(white grape juice, apple juice and lemon-lime soda work well.) When its
time to serve the punch, add a few poisoned cubes to each childs glass.
Your guests will be delighted with this dangerously fun drink!
Joker's
Jell-O® Jigglers
Purchase your childs favorite flavors of gelatin
and follow the directions to make Jigglers. Purchase a bat-shaped cookie cutter
and any other theme-related shapes you can find. After the gelatin has set, cut
it into shapes to make this popular treat even more fun!
Bats
in a Blanket
Your guests are sure to love these tasty treats. To make
them, first purchase your favorite brand of hot dogs, cheese, and refrigerator
croissants. Slice hot dogs lengthwise and cut cheese into strips. Unroll croissants
and stuff with hot dogs and cheese.
Roll
croissants back up and bake as directed, or until golden brown. For fun, add tiny
red cinnamon pieces to make eyes for the bats! Serve warm.
Fruit
Kabobs
Cut your childs favorite fruits into chunks and place on
trays. Pass out wooden skewers, with the sharp tips broken off, and let the children
create their own fruit kabobs. Theyll be fun for the kids to make and will
make parents happy because theyre healthy too!
Suggestion:
Ask another parent or older sibling to come help out if young children will be
attending the party because skewers can be very sharp.
Bat
Cookies
Make your favorite sugar cookie recipe or purchase pre-made,
refrigerated cookie dough. Roll out the dough and use a bat-shaped cookie cutter
(or make your own template) to form bat shapes. Bake according to directions and
cool.
When cooled, frost with dark-colored
frosting and let the kids decorate the cookies with sprinkles or candy. Red cinnamon
pieces make great bat eyes!
Bat-Cream
Sandwiches
Use the recipe above for Bat Cookies to make sugar cookies
in the shape of bats. After theyve been baked and cooled, set the cookies
aside. Leave them unfrosted, without any decorations.
When
the cookies have cooled, soften a half gallon of your childs favorite ice
cream. Spread a thick layer of ice cream between two bat cookies and return to
the freezer. Freeze cookies until party time. Enjoy!
