Have a couple of adults on hand to help give each child their very own manicure and pedicure. They'll love it.

Fashion Show
Suggest in your invitation that each girl dress her Barbie like a princess, or in her very finest attire. When all the Barbies have arrived, hold a fashion show and let each girl tell about her Barbie and the clothes she is wearing.

Princess Parade
All your party girls can be as fashionable as their Barbie dolls, they just need a little dressing up! Collect dresses, skirts, blouses, scarves, high-heeled shoes, ribbons, shawls, hats, gloves, and costume jewelry to create your own high fashion wardrobe. Neighbors, friends, relatives and secondhand stores are excellent sources for dress-up items. Encourage the girls (it won’t take much) to make themselves even more glamorous than they already are by donning the clothing accessories of their choice. Try to have a mirror on hand so the girls can admire themselves in the party room, or have one nearby which they can use. Once your girls are elegantly attired, give them the opportunity to show themselves off in a fun fashion show. You can be emcee by announcing each girl’s name and describing her fashions. Upbeat music will enhance the event as the girls strut their stuff! This is the perfect photo opportunity for you. Use a Polaroid camera so you can send home a photo with each guest as a remembrance. If you don’t have a Polaroid camera, develop your film as soon as possible following the party and send a print to each guest with their thank-you note.

Star Relay
Fashion stars are on the move almost as much as your party girls will be in this fun relay game. Before the party, cut four large stars from gold poster board (any cardboard will do, and you can color it). Each star should be approximately 12-15 inches in diameter. Divide your guests into two lines and give the first person in each line two stars. These stars become the only thing they can step on as they travel front the front of the start/finish line, around a chair and back again. To play, have each player place a star on the ground, step on it, place the other star on the ground and step on it, pick up the first star and place it in front, etc. The first team to have each player finish the course, wins!

Fashion Designers
Give your young designers the opportunity to create their own fashion designs with this creative and entertaining activity. Tape a long sheet of white butcher paper on a wall (or put it on the floor if you have a smooth floor surface). Have several paper dolls of various sizes on hand so your designers can trace them onto the paper. Provide a variety of crayons or markers and let your designers create their own unique fashions. This is a great activity for the beginning of your party to break the ice and fill time as guests arrive, or at the end of the party while waiting for parents to pick up their children.

Telephone

Have all your guests sit in a circle and the leader will whisper something to the person sitting beside her and she will repeat it to the person next to her and so on. The goal is to see if it the same saying when it gets to the last person as it was when it started. Sure to get some laughs.

Pretty Pink Lemonade
Make a refreshing party drink at home. Combine 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup lemon juice and the juice from 6 freshly squeezed lemons. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Pour mixture into a 2-quart container and fill with cold water. Add a couple drops of red food coloring to turn the beverage a light shade of pink. Because, as you know, pink is Barbie’s favorite color. Using a star-shaped ice tray, prepare star-shaped ice ahead of time. When it’s time to serve, pour the pink lemonade into a punch bowl and add the frozen stars. Garnish each guests’ glass with a small paper umbrella to make them feel extra special. Makes 12 (8 ounce) servings.

Princess Parfait
This refreshing treat is sure to be one of the highlights of your party. In a parfait cup, layer yogurt (any flavor), granola and fresh fruit (bananas, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries work well). Top with whipped topping and serve with long-handled spoons.

Sugary Stars
Make your favorite sugar cookie recipe, or buy prepackaged dough. Roll out dough and cut cookies into star shapes. Bake as directed. Prepare icing by sifting confectioners’ sugar into a bowl and slowly adding hot water; mix until it becomes a smooth paste. Separate into small bowls and create pastel shades using food coloring. Spread icing onto cooled cookies and sprinkle with granulated sugar or sprinkles so they shimmer like real stars!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Purchase large, ripe strawberries from your grocer. Wash berries in cool water and gently pat them dry. Slowly melt 6-12 oz. chocolate chips in a pan and carefully dip the berries in the chocolate halfway. Place the dipped berries on waxed paper to cool. Arrange them on a serving platter and refrigerate until serving time.

5. When you have your film developed, order extra prints and send them to the parents afterward.
